Ladytron have been infecting my love for Liverpool power-pop/rock ever since I stumbled across their cover of "Oops Oh My!" some time ago. Their new album title Velocifero fits their sound snugly, translating to "bringer of speed", it first turned heads with the single "Black Cat" . A solid track but not the best one on the album - the song "Ghosts" quickly became the obvious successor. The tune was quickly remixed by New York alt-rap collective Blestenation in a way that "keeps the original's organ hum, earthy bassline and chorus hook intact, adding some ghettotech percussion and verses from MCs Werdplay and Various over top... tasteful, but a completely different steez." Word up, Ladytroners.
