[SXSW] Max Tundra @ Red 7 + new music video!
-
Artist:
Between my video camera malfunctioning and my camera deleting 1/3 of the photos I snapped, I've settled back into post-SXSW life wondering if Austin is some sort of technological bermuda triangle or if I just had bizarre luck. Regardless, I'm sorting through what I've got whilst juggling a research paper. Good things, however, come in pairs and Connor has photos plus some fantastic video to share!
Below are some pictures I snatched at a crowded Red 7 during Max Tundra's first SXSW set. There was a thicket of pulsating people up front I deemed impossible to sort through with a Dos Equis in hand so I snapped some photos over their heads. Tundra, with his gleeful personality and pleasant British accent, reminded me of Ritalin induced Elton John - minus the trademark costumes and gapped teeth. If you ever get to see him live I'd recommend it, there is something mystifying about watching a single man smash on synthesizers and computers only to dance around on stage like you or I might in the privacy of our bedrooms. Tundra's "Which Song" is definitely one of my favorite tracks; the video just premiered today and features Max (alone once again) darting about Japanese hotel hallways and playing sushi (and other food trays) as instruments. Yes, you read that correctly.
