Sublime has officially announced their return with new singer Rome. The SoCal dub punkers are letting it loose at a festival show in late October - Cypress Hill's Smokeout Fest in San Bernadino, Calif. (Oct. 23-24). The show will actually be Sublime's second public performance as a newly configured group. Sublime fronted by Rome played a secret show a few months back at a cantina outside of Reno.
Along with Sublime, drummer Bud Gaugh plays in another band called Del Mar. Del Mar posted a mesage on their MySpace: "It's official now so we can finally speak out - Bud & Eric are getting ready to reunite as Sublime w/Rome. Their first show will be the Smoke Out in San Berno. We'll let everybody know more news as it comes in, Bud's still in Del Mar & we're currently working out our touring schedules so everything's in harmony. Big ole congrats to Bud and Eric- it's been tooooo long! Jah bless!"
On a side note: Pennywise is scheduled to play the Smokeout Fest as well. Pennywise lost their singer, Jim Lindberg, a couple of weeks ago.
