WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

the year so far !!!

Posted 5 months ago

as we're just over half way through the year, i thought it would be nice to do a run down of all the albums that have made my year (so far). got your own suggestions lets hear them.

into the hillside - cassettes won't listen (itunes)
a lo-fi, indie helping of digital experimental pop.

ladyhawke - ladyhawke (itunes)
gotta admire someone that names their debut after themselves, plus it's got alot of big sing along numbers which also helps.

hands - little boots (itunes)
ok yes this album was slightly too mainstream, and poppy for some and yes it could have done with the full 7min version of stuck on repeat, but it's non the less a pretty near perfect slice of electro-pop.

la roux - la roux (itunes)
it's hard to not like anyone with hair as big as ellie jackson's, and when she's producing eighties inspired gems such as 'bulletproof' and 'quicksand' what's not to like.

the bachelor - patrick wolf (itunes)
part industrial rock, part highland folk music, part dancey pop. this albums got it all and probably this years most impressive video so far too.

keep an eye out for the next part, where i'll be pointing out the albums that i'm most excited about that are coming out over the next 6 months.
