Diplo set to play Falls sideshows

Diplo, in the country performing at the sold out Falls Festival as Major Lazer (with Switch), is playing a couple of sideshows.Diplo can be attributed with playing a key role in bringing the musical genre funk carioca from Brazil to the United States. After traveling to Rio de Janeiro and experiencing the music first hand in 2004, he released a number of baile funk mixes, and later went on to co-author the mixtape 'Piracy Funds Terrorism Vol. 1' with M.I.A, an underground success.Besides M.I.A., Diplo has also worked with fellow Philadelphians Spank Rock, Bonde Do Role and Santogold.Very special guest on the night is Amanda Blank who is also on the falls line-up and who has just dropped her debut record ‘I Love You’ produced by Diplo, Switch and XXXChange and featuring guest by Spank Rock, Santigold, Lykke Li and the Cool Kids.Catch Diplo while he's in the country.Dates:January 7 - The Corner Hotel, Melbourne VICJanuary 8 - Metro Theatre, Sydney NSWwww.formdiplo.com
