WE'RE WRAPPING UP THE CARDIGANS WEEK HERE AT FUCK YEAH! GO TEAM!

"Gran Turismo" is a wild card of an album, it sticks out in the Cardigans ' discography, abandoning their pop roots almost completely in favour of electronic sounds and darker tones. At times, it can be the most rewarding of albums from them and it makes you wonder what would happen if they revisited the ideas birthed from this time in the band. I'd like to see one like this again, at least for a spell.

I don't know when we'll do another theme week but I do enjoy them. Sooner than later I hope!

Last year we did a Beachwood Sparks week that started it off. I loved it. Any ideas for a good theme?

hmm. as a spin-off/follow-up to the cardigans week you could theme posts around new swedish groups on your radar, or your favorite swedish groups. or something silly like 'songs that wouldve made prom worth going to'

Myself and my frequent contributor Matt both love the Swedish tunes and try to keep on top of it, a week of that does sound good. It'd be interesting to hear what songs are played at the proms of today. If it's like the school dances of my day, it's nothing but top 20 rubbish.

i'd be lying if i said i wouldn't benefit from a week of that coverage as well!

i am sure the proms these days are nothing but an mtv spring break/the grind throwback ahaha.
