It's clearly no secret about how close Janet Jackson was to her brother Micheal before his sudden death earlier this year. It's also no secret that Janet is the only other member of the Jackson family besides Michael who has a steady income.
Word on the block is that Janet decided to give up $49, 000 of her very own hard earned dough to help cover the burial cost for MJ's funeral & mortuary services. The good news is that Ms. Jackson did get all her money back. Pop the hood for the scoop.
According to reports:
In the docs, it shows Janet signed an "initial contract with Forest Lawn for mortuary services in the amount of $103,578.50" and paid $49,372.50 of the bill up front.These are some of the other cost which have been revealed. MJ's total funeral was said to have cost $1M.
According to the docs, the special administrators of Michael's estate were granted permission to pay Janet back the $49k and to pick up the remainder of her outstanding tab. [source]
Costs also included $US3,682 for framing a photograph of the Billie Jean hitmaker next to the casket, $US1,975 to pay for family outfits; $US2,000 for usher costumes; $US11,716 for invitations and programmes; $US16,000 for flowers; $US30,000 for cars and security and $US15,000 for a funeral designer.There was also a charge of $US21,455 for the "funeral repast" at a nearby Italian restaurant after the ceremony.
