Ashanti is currently in LA recording her 5th studio album. Besides from working on her new album Ashanti is also set to perform on VH1 Hip Hop Honors on Oct. 13th, which just so happens to be her birthday. She is also slated to light the Empire State Building green on September 24th in New York. [Ashanti Daily]In a recent interview Rule says his next album will be released in 2010 with the title “Venni Vetti Vicci 2010″.
“I’m trying to take it up a notch, something a little more different,” Rule told Rhyme & Reason. “Maybe I can have some of these spaces in time where — this album, I really wanna make this album for the people, for the public so they can enjoy. This album’s not about, we ain’t getting money off rap records like we used to. So when I’m doing it now, it ain’t for the money. It’s for the love because it ain’t out there like that. You can ask any rap artist out there that’s doing it, the record business is not what it used to be so when you see artist like myself — I do it for the love.” [Singers Room]We wish both of these artists a successful return to the game. Hopefully both of them will get it right this time around.
And speaking of new albums our favorite Supreme chick Monica is also getting ready to drop her long awaited new album Still Standing.
