New Music: Take Back the City

Snow Patrol has a new album coming out next month, entitled A Hundred Million Suns, due out October 27th. The lead single, Take Back the City , has come online, which you can listen to here on their website (or down below, streaming) and on their myspace page .

I'm excited for this album. I really dug their last album, 2006's Eyes Open , although I have a number of extremely bittersweet memories from it, particularly with their song, Set Fire to the Third Bar .

Take Back the City sounds like a good, solid Snow Patrol song, right up there with Chocolate, Open Your Eyes and less like Run. It doesn't sound like there's a whole lot of progression here, which makes me wonder if these guys will fall the standby of finding a sound and sticking to it. Which, for the most part, is fine by me, because I really like their sound.

I'm excited for this album. It has an appropriately geeky/SciFi title, and it looks like there are some songs that are along the same lines. It should be a good listen, and with this single, it's been bumped up the 'most anticipated' list.
