So, after a year away from the blog, I've got all new musical inspirations to share!
Again, I've never viewed this blog as much a music-review page, but more of a I-share-my-thoughts-about-whatever-and-also-talk-about-my-favorite-dance-music.
My tastes have changed a little and I've grown a more interested in non-lyrical electronic music. But I still really love all good dance music and I can't wait to share a little bit at a time.
Today's highlight is Diskjokke. I seriously love this music. The record "Staying In" was released in January of this year and I listen to it all the time. Honestly, it often gives me chills, provokes me to thought and gets me off my butt, dancing.
The title track here makes me think of walking on tippy toes in my flats on a cement ground. That makes no sense, but it just makes me want to dance like that. The beat changes so often, you never grow tired of the song. I hear little fairy bombs falling from the sky and mushrooms bursting in the air. Lovely.
The other track I've included, "Cold Out" is a sci-fi sound from the 50's transformed into a groovy twist-your-shoulders kind of Caribbean sound. Check it out and groove out. So melodic, you'd think there's lyrics. This is the band that transitioned me from lyrical electronic music to instrumental.

Also, if you live in Portland... there's a chance Diskjokke will be playing at the best venue in town - Holocene in September. But don't quote me on it.
