WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Jack Ingram ruins one poor dad's day

I've never been a parent at one of my kids bring-your-parent-to-school-and-show-them-off days (also known as career day at school), but I think if I did I'd fare pretty good.  I mean I'm a country music gossip blogger, how cool is that?  Of course if nothing else I've also got my medical transcription day job to fall back on, that's a pretty cool gig too I think. If nothing else I could push the fact that I get to sit at home and work in my pajamas if I want.  Can't really beat that I don't think.

Yep, I'm pretty confident in the coolness of my jobs.  But I would probably be less confident if my kids went to school with say Perez Hilton's kids (not that he's got any or probably ever will). Or worse yet, if they went to school with Tim and Faith's kids. How in the world would a person compete with that?

Well one blogger found out for himself how you compete.  You don't.  Poor, poor papa over at The Chief Outsider had all his hopes and dreams of being the cool dad dashed when his 6-year-old daughter came home bragging about Jack Ingram coming in for career day at school and how he signed autographs and sang them a song.

Yep, how in the world does a parent compete with that?

Thanks JACK. No really, you screwed me on this one. Yes, the album, Big Dreams & High Hopes is good. Very strong. But not only did my daughter show me your autograph, she also told me how cool and sweet the song was. Here is the deal, are you trying to help the rest of us middle aged not as face jock appearing fathers and husbands? NO!

I am not even going to mention what the wives were saying…DAMN, really bad move.

All I can say is thank goodness I live in Podunk, Idaho, where my career choices can still stand up against the other parents.
