The fun of a Rascal Flatts concert turned more serious and dangerous this weekend after a college student was left in a medically-induced coma after a fight.
Jeffrey "Jake" Fleming, 20, a UCLA tennis player, is in critical condition in a Texas after he was attacked after a Flatts concert at Fair Park in Dallas.
Police believe Fleming and his friends may have argued with a group of people during the concert. Once the concert was over, Fleming and his friends were waiting for a taxi when a group of guys came up and started swinging. Fleming was punched in the face and knocked to the ground, causing bleeding and swelling in his brain.
The instigators then left in an unmarked white party bus and so far no arrest has been made. Fleming's family flew in from California to be by Fleming's side in the hospital and are offering a reward to anyone with information that will lead to an arrest and conviction.
"It's devastating to our family," said Steve Fleming, Jeffrey's father. "At some point, when he gets healthy, then I will shift gears and worry about the guy who did this."
