Gift of Gab ft. Del the Funky Homosapien & Brother Ali - Dreamin'

When I was in 6th grade I bought four albums that would change my life. They were the first hip-hop records I ever bought, and two of them were by Blackalicious. I've listened to a lot more music since then. Some is better, some is worse, but regardless of where Blackalicious stands in the pantheon of great artists, they will always hold a special place in my heart as the ones that got me hooked on this drug called hip-hop.

So, even though the last Blackalicious record (2006's The Craft) was arguably their weakest effort to date, I'm still pretty excited for Escape 2 Mars, the latest solo LP from Gift of Gab, to drop on November 3rd. Before Wordsmith gets up in arms about "all these rappers calling themselves martians," here's a little explanation from Gab himself:

"People are gonna think this is about Martians, but it's not. It's more so about taking care of the planet we're on. We might have to escape to Mars or somewhere else if we keep taking the planet we live on for granted.” - OkayPlayer

The powers that be have released a free single from the record called "Dreamin'" featuring guest spots from Del the Funky Homosapien and Brother Ali. As always, Gab proves that he has a better understanding of the English language and rhyme schemes than most people in the world, and, as if there was any question, Del and Ali do their thing... well.
