The Charlottesville Pavilion has just announced the latest addition to their summer / fall concert schedule as Washington, D.C.'s Thievery Corporation comes to town on Thursday, October 29th for what will probably be one of the final performances of the season at the Pavilion. With special guests Ancient Astronauts. Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday, August 21st at 10am. [purchase tickets HERE]

Dub beats, the sounds of bossa nova, reggae, and jazz, a taste of music and languages from around the world, and an ensemble of live performers that will include everything from belly dancers to sitar players are the norm not the exception for Thievery Corporation's live shows. Driven by the creative masterminds of DJ duo Rob Garza and Eric Hilton, Thievery Corporation's group's songs weave political expression, social awareness, and a sense of global consciousness into what should be the biggest dance party to hit Charlottesville in recent years. Looks like the Pavilion is going out with a big bang in 2009.

Thievery Corporation released their fifth full-length album Radio Retaliation in September of 2008 on the group's own Eighteenth Studio Lounge Music record label. For a taste of what you can expect to see and hear from the band's live shows check out the video below.
