Black Crowes::I Ain't Hiding (from the forthcoming album "Before the Frost...") [MP3]

With the release of their brand album just a little less than three weeks away, the Black Crowes have just made the first track from the forthcoming release available as a FREE download. "I Ain't Hiding", is just one of eleven new or previously unreleased songs from Before the Frost... to be included on the band's new studio effort. The Black Crowes have also moved the release date for the album up by one day with the new record now going on sale on Monday, August 31st.

Before the Frost... was recorded during a five night stay at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, NY and while the new album is officially dubbed a studio recording, all the songs on Before the Frost... were performed and recorded live in front of an intimate studio audience. As an added bonus, each copy of Before the Frost... will also include a unique download card which will allow fans to download a second new album titled ...Until the Freeze. Taken from the same five night studio sessions ...Until the Freeze will include eight new Black Crowes tracks as well as a cover of Stephen Stills' "So Many Times". The recordings for the two album affair took place back in February and March of this year and at the time the sessions were called Cabin Fever Winter 2009.

The release of the two new albums comes almost twenty years after the band's highly celebrated breakthrough debut Shake Your Money Maker which launched the Crowes' career back in 1990. The band's most recent album, Warpaint, was released last March and at the time was the band's first studio effort in seven years. Warpaint was also was the first Crowes' record to include the group's newest members, keyboardist Adam MacDougall and North Mississippi All-Stars' guitarist Luther Dickinson and both are present on the latest recordings as well. Before the Frost..Until the Freeze is reportedly set to feature a heavy bluegrass and country-blues influence, but you will find little of either on the new track "I Ain't Hiding". Driven by an almost 70's disco funk beat, "I Ain't Hiding" sounds and feels like little else in the Crowes' music catalog. Give it a listen below.

The Black Crowes kick off an extensive U.S. tour in support of the new album on August 25th at Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA. They'll also be appearing at the American Music Festival in Virginia Beach on September 6th. The tour concludes with a five night-run at The Fillmore in San Francisco Dec. 1 - Dec. 6.
