TV On The Radio to Give Other Bands A Chance

In a recent interview with MTV, TV On The Radio frontman Tunde Adebimpe revealed that the band is planning a one year sabbatical from their full-time job of making incredible music. After nearly a year straight of taking their high energy live show around the globe, they’re tired of seeing each other’s indie faces while living on a bus. Said Adebimpe, “We’ve been on tour for almost a year now...it’s basic cabin fever.” Understandable. It’s a kind deed for TVOTR for three reasons:
1. It will give other bands a chance by opening up a guaranteed spot on Year End Top Ten lists.
2. It will remind fans that they shouldn’t count on a mind-blowing TVOTR album EVERY year.
3. It will give the boys a chance to concentrate on other mind-blowing ventures - Kyp Malone is releasing an LP under the moniker Rain Machine, David Sitek is producing Wale’s debut LP and a bunch of other great music, and Tunde Adebimpe is almost certainly going to flex his acting chops a bit more.
Enjoy the year off, TV On The Radio! See you next time you rock through town!
