Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

So... you like Jesus & Mary Chain? Velvet Underground? Led Zeppelin? Ride?Nick Jago, Robert Been (who's father is Michael Been from The Call) and Peter Hayes formed BRMC in 1998 - Peter being originally in The Brian Jonestown Massacre (a band I saw support BRMC a few years back when they were promoting the 3rd Album, Howl).- BJM is well worth a blog in their own right as they are barmy! The first album, BRMC showed their influences of Ride and JAMC while the 2nd album, "Take Them On, On Your Own" criticised the US Government way before Green Day did - listen to tracks like 'US Government' and 'Generation' to see what I mean.Nick left the band between the 2nd and 3rd albums (due to drink and drug dependency) but returned to lay down drums on tracks like 'Promise'.The 4th Album has Nick back full time - Baby 81, has some brilliant tunes like 'Weapon of Choice' and 'Berlin' - the track 'American X' being VERY Spritualized - well worth seeing the full effect live.I guess I've seen them around 15 times now - including the infamous gig at London Astoria where the fans selected the setlist and the band played for around 2 hours.I have loads of their tracks and could have posted live and studio pieces here - including them doing a cover of White Stripes' Hardest Button To Button .In the end, I opted for the track I want playing at my funeral! As they say... One Two Three... Whooo!
