DAVEY HAVOK

You know people really need to stop stereotyping because AFI is a great band and there have been many poeple recently not wanting to listen to bands like them simply because their friends might think they were emo, but yet they loved their songs. It doesn't make sence to me. I think AFI is a very poetic band, and has great sounds great vocals, the whole bit. They deserve recognition for that not stereotyping!Someone asked what AFI stands for. It stands for A Fire Inside.

  2. anoperaticdisco says I 100% agree. emo has such a negative stigma these days. Maybe people don't like the idea of a boy crying to himself or having his heart broken into a million pieces or whatever. But I say get over it -- if you like the music, you like the music. Enough said.

  5. SatisfiedMind614 says Thank you...on a side note, a friend of mine went and saw them in Cleveland and the lead singer for the opening band did a stage dive...landed right on my friend Melinda's head...broke her neck! She had one of those halo braces on for 4 months...and she missed A.F.I. of course...not a good night

  8. Violet Grey says For me AFI is a simple matter of their image overshadowing their music. There is a great line from a song by a band called Sloan that reads, "It's not the band I hate, it's their fans". This holds most true to me with AFI. Sure, they are an alright band, but they aren't really great songwriters. Plus, I just can't seem to get on board with any band that markets action figures. I mean, what the hell do they have to do with music anyway? I have to put bands like AFI and My Chemical Romance into the acceptable fashion goth category. I don't dislike them necessarily, I do like listening to Sing the Sorrow, but I just can't jump up and defend them whenever someone talks down about them.
