Watch this movie, buy the soundtrack, watch this movie. It's sweetness will break your heart, in a good way (if that's possible).

So I read this idea on artofthemix.org and maybe I am in the dark, but I absolutely love the idea of putting a mixtape together this way and have never tried it quite like this before. Here's the details:1. song from the last record bought 2. A blues: not a necessarily a blues record but a song that is labelled (something) blues 3. song that gets you going in the morning 4. romantic song 5. One ...

So I was getting ready to put together my Favorite Songs from 2006 mix cd and I am thinking that so many others of you out there do the same thing and with that in mind I was wondering if anyone out there would like to trade those cds this year when they are completed? One note of caution though: I searched for The Flaming Lips, Pet Shop Boys and The Magnetic Fields and somehow Ron Sexsmith came up on the map for each one.Obviously that means that Ron Sexsmith's mom must be

So it's probably been around for a while, but I just recently discovered the Audiofile section of Salon.com. There is a free download of good indie-type tracks every day, but more importantly they are all archived so there are literally hundreds on the site that you can download for free. I only have gotten a couple so far, The new La Rocca, Cold War Kids and Roommate, but there are plenty more.
