Bill Frisell East/West... Rift our beings away

So there are albums that you pick up by chance, as an exploration, as an improvisation. And this is one of those albums that I did pick up without much knowlegde about it and the artist, Bill Frisell. This is a guitar rifting, breaths in between... the sound drifting between blues and country through the medium of jazz. I never thought this possible until I heard this particular East/West.

Many times the album left me at a loss, as I was flung into the groove... then there is an underlying melancholy, a tear, an abyss beyong each chord, note and beat...

Call me sentimental... but Frisell has rifted my being away into its deeper self.
