Brass Rock

One of the most enduring theses about music that is floating around my brain is that all really rocking music should have brass instruments, preferably as many as possible, and not just for cheezy brass hits at the end of each line, I mean really playing. This also exaplins a lot about some of the bands I listen to, e.g. I seem to be attached to Chicago beyond reason. (I have this dream where I start a band that sounds like a cross between Chicago, Led Zeppelin, and Jimi Hendrix, which I guess isn't a particularly far-fetched combination. Alright, a stupid dream, but everybody needs a hobby.)
On a tangential topic, I seem to be on a serious Bonerama kick. Those guys need a better name, but boy do they sound great. Basically, it's a band with, well, trombones (hence the cheezy name). Also, I should say that they're not really a rock band, I guess they're really more funk - and actually, they're pretty jazzy - but when they do decide to rock, they really rock. Case in point, one of the coolest rock covers I've ever heard, Bonerama playing Led Zeppelin's The Ocean.
