OK,OK I know this is a silly post but I am sick as hell and bored as hell and anything that requires I-Tunes I am down with it.1. Put your music player on shuffle.2. Press forward for each question.3. Use the song title as the answer to the question.1. How does the world see me? "Rock n Roll Nurse"- Von Bondies(I wish it didn't say nurse)2. The latest book I have been reading "Rolling Stone History of Rock and Roll"really got me thinking about the roots of Rock music. I know there have been numerous books on the subject about the "first Rock n Roll song" but it is all based on individual opinion's. I did a term paper in college on this subject but I have amended some of it. Listed here are some seminal songs that I believe were cr...

A few days ago someone sent me this mp3. It is a punk cover of "Purple Rain" I don't have a clue who sings this, it was tagged as Me First and the Gimmee Gimmees' but that is incorrect. I tried to see if any of the punk bands that do alot of cover songs might have done it (NOFX, MXPX, Goldfinger, Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake, Lagwagon) but I don't think they did. It's really not even that grea...

It's quite powerful how a particular song can bring on memories like a flood. This was the case today as I was listening to one of my favorite 90's band (albeit short lived) Concrete Blonde. For some reason whenever I hear the song "Joey" I think of hot weather, boot camp and margaritas. Childish is also an accomplished artist, photographer, author, poet, film maker, guitarist and singer. He has been mentioned as an influence by artist such as Kurt Cobain and Jack White (of the White Stripes) I am going to just concentrate on his musical care...

I would have done the same before I read the book "PUNK The Whole Story" -2006 published by DK(As a side note I would recommend this excellent book to anyone who wants an in depth look at the formation of the Punk movement scene in the mid 1970's.)As I was r

The Swingin' Neckbreakers are one of my favorite "rock-revival" garage bands. And they pretty much would fit in with the garage bands of the late 1960's. It's obvious they learned their licks from Paul Revere and the Raiders and the Kinks. This song is a cover of the Underdogs from the excellent album "Shake Break!"Enjoy

While living in Cuba in the summer of 1994, I was searching the music racks for something to listen to in my WALKMAN (Gasp!!!) while I was lying on the beach.I came across a tribute tape of KISS called "Kiss My Ass" and thought that might just do the trick. So I eagerly purchased it and popped it into my tape-deck. Let me just say the first 10 tracks made me wish that I had instead purchased "Dook
