yo,
first off, thanks so much to everyone who came out to my solo shows this past month! i had a blast and i hope you guys did, too...
those of you who came early to the DCFC /Franz Ferdinand dates last spring got to see a fantastic band from Wakefield, England called the Cribs. over the course of those six weeks, the brothers Cribs drove over 10,000 miles and a van accross the US and Canada killing it every night. plus, they always seemed to have smiles on their faces when they got to the next gig no matter how long the drive or how much whiskey was consumed the previous night. even in my younger years, i never could have withstood what they weathered. :)
we've been friends ever since and it pleases me to no end to tell you that their new album, 'men's needs, women's needs, whatever' FUCKING SLAYS !!! pick it up and support the hardest working band from the hardest working class town in the UK.
xo
ben

will check it out. thanks.
The Jarman boys certainly do rock...best mates with the Kaisers too
Thanks Ben!! You were awesome at The Cat's Cradle! Have a great summer!
sounds really good. i'll have to look into it.
the show in SF was awesome! thanks for noticing the the sign my friend and i had made for you. we made shirts too but it was too dark to see.
we're super nerdy but its fun.
hope to hear some new stuff soon!
Hmn, nice to see you touring with two bands hyped by NME .
I admire their ability to weather the hardships of extreme touring and their apparent ability to play through incredible distraction...
thumbs up.
geez, naked women get to do whatever they want. :)
bennnn!
i LOVE this song! xD
Thanks so much for posting the music video up i hadnt seen it yet.
i love uk bands =) except for bloc party... something about bloc party annoys mee.
I'll be sure to check these guys out. No on e can be grudge hard working musicians.
& Thanks for adding the Detroit show.
Your new stuff is great! I can hardly wait to hear it all!
Hi Ben!

We made you shirts too bad you didnt get to see them :'( They were green with yellow letters that said "Ben Gibbard is a lyrical Genius"... is lyrical a real word? We made you a poster too that said "Ben is Awsome!" which you totally are! Hope you saw that one!

hey ben, i was just watching your rant about the black eyed peas at the rogue wave benefit concert in san fran on youtube, it was great. genius. also, the cribs are AMAAAAAAZING . its great to know you have an amazing music taste, but you have to right? you're ben gibbard, haha.
lovvvvvinn it!
Thanks Ben for the hard work and hours of entertainment you proivde!
The Cribs are great pop for sure, has a touch of Sunny Day Real Estate flavor to it, some of the vocal interplay akin to a young Jeremy Enigk -- http://mog.com/music/Jeremy_Enigk
fun video and great music! :) thanks for the exposure, can't wait to pick up the album and hear some more. sidebar: even though the cribs bass player is completely hot, i simply refuse to be the naked girl in their next video. ;P
aaawwwwhhhh... decapitations and Orange amps in the same video, does it get much better? "The L.A." was very happy you came by to say hello.
The Cribs: "I know, lets make a video where a naked woman does household chores and castrates the band while we whine!"
Seriously, I know the subject matter of the song, but are they for real? They need better music videos. Music is not just for boys.
Jolly song though. Catchy.
thanks for the tip ben
I did see the Cribs open for you last year (uh, twice...) and have followed them ever since. Such energy! Of course, they are around, what, 15 years old? I had energy then too. BTW , great show in Seattle. I was at the Sunday show...missed Sean on Monday--boo hiss
a
crap, no more $15 cribs concerts...
Next paycheque goes towards buying Men's Needs. They fucking blew me & my friend away. I wear my Cribs pin with pride, man. The Jarman brothers own.
Nice....I will definately check them out. Thanks for the SF Concert, by the way.

yeah, I saw them open up for you guys in april 2006 at the tabernacle in atlanta. that was an amazing gig.
Your solo concert was the most amazing concert I've ever been to. I was in the Somerville, Mass. crowd, and probably the reason we were so quiet was because we didn't want to miss a thing. You were so awesome. :D
