greetings from an ice arena in the middle of nowhere. i'm somewhere in PA right now on tour. i think we're near Pittsburgh, however as i look out the window of our tour bus parked in a vacant lot in a field there are no signs that confirm this notion.recently in toronto i stumbled across a CD reissue of Karen Dalton's "In My Own TIme." my friend megan gave me a shitty vinyl burn of this record a 4 years ago and i've loved it ever since. i'm so stoked seattle's own Light in the Attic Records finally got this thing out in the world again. there's also some great essays by lenny kaye, nick cave and denvendra banhart here that will bring those not so familiar with her up to speed. check it out!xoben

    max says such a great album, I kind of burnt myself out on it, like i do with so many albums, and haven't really listened to it in a while, but i think it's about time to bring it back out, and possibly go grab the new reissue, i always love a good cd booklet!

    TheGreatJesse says I was in that Ice Arena in the middle of nowhere! I was impressed with how well you and your band reacted to playing in a crappy arena somewhere south of Pittsburgh. The crazy instrumental at the end of 'We Looked Like Giants' was great. Ted Leo played really well, also, but I wish he would have had a longer set. I couldn't believe how few fans he had there that night, as talented as he is. Do you know where I can get a set list for that show?

I'll definitely have to pick up The Black Hole to imagine what the hell you were talkin about . . . I was ecstatic that you went deep into your albums, cause your earlier stuff is just as awesome as what's being played on the radio. And great cover of I'm going home, that just rocked . . . thanks for making music that released me from the zombifying grip of mass radio conglomerates... seriously.

    keysofmetalandivory says About 20 minutes away from da burgh to be precise....and the "echo arena" was awesome.... yinz guyz are just as sweet live as you are coming through my sound system...and I've lived in pittsburgh my entire life..i've traveled to and past belle vernon and never ONCE saw that ice arena! didn't even knew it existed....so thank u for opening my eyes to a new place heh peace :)

That makes no sense, i mean, hed have to like somehow hold a drumstick in his hand and a guitar around his shoulder and then like use the other hand for the keyboard, but then he wouldnt have a hand for his guitar... you confuse me ben. Ohh and so I got a question about your show, what was the last cover you did? It was reallllly good and I want to get it on my itunes but i forgot who you said it was by.     Ben, saw you guys at The Assembly Hall on Sunday in Champaign IL, you guys put on one hell of a show!  I had to run back home and fill out the rest of my Death Cab album collection.  My wife and I will take every opportunity to see you guys perform in the future.

    Glad to see you on MOG too, I was an early adopter and totally jazzed when I saw you show up on here.
