Dark, creepy, beautiful pop. Absolute perfection. Clearlake is the best band I have heard in years. They are sorta in the same music world as say Spiritualized and Swervedriver only they are a little more straight forward musically, and a bit more catchy. Also they have fantastic lyrics. They are right in the pocket where I like them not really trying to say to much, but also making you think, and nice imagery and most importantly not a single cheesy line. I saw them awile back at sxsw. They opened for Franz Ferdinad right as those guys began there one year danse party reign. I thought Clearlake blew them out of the water. It was one of those rare shows where a strange band just sweeps you off your feet. Anyways this is my first try at blogging, and I am really not very good at describing music, so all I will say is please check this band out. There newest record is very strong but i suggest starting with Cedars. They are on Domino records home to another great band called the Clinic.
