Bravo! This new Take Action disc is the epitome of what good compilation discs should be.

The good people at Sub City/Hopeless Records have yet again out done themselves. They've put together a calling card of who's who in up-and-coming rock with this, the ninth version of the Take Action series.

Even more importantly, the album (like vols 1-8 and the tour itself) are put together to help out a cause. Throw in the fact that about 50% of these songs have never been heard (remixes, acoustic versions, etc), and you really can't go wrong.

While I was not a huge fan of very many of these bands prior to hearing the album, the cause they came together for, and the knowledge that so many of these songs were previously unreleased immediately makes Take Action Vol. 9 worth more than just the music and packaging inside.
