Fu Manchu's been around for about 20 years, they're even celebrating with some cool stuff in 201 including some remastered stuff and big live events. To kick it all off, they're releasing their 11th album later this month.
Signs of Infinite Power is not unlike anything Fu Manchu has done before. That is to say that if you've heard Fu Manchu before, this album is not going to have any surprises for you. It's really that simple. . . if you like Fu Manchu already, you'll dig Signs of Infinite Power, if you are bored of the band, dislike them in anyway, it's clearly not an option.
The 11 tracks on Signs of Infinite Power contain the band's signature heavy fuzz riffs and semi-metal sound. It's what good bands do when they have a certain sound and no extra dexterity. Not that Fu Manchu needs to reinvent the wheel or even go so far as to play punk or goth or anything else. Their brand of stoner power fuzz rock is and always has been a good sound.
I suppose when you can look back at a band's 20 year career and struggle to pinpoint which album a song comes from based on sound alone, it makes me wonder what's the purpose.
