Don't ever let anyone tell you a Mike Watt show is not worth attending.
Saturday night marked the fourth time I've seen Watt since his career vereened onto the, for lack of a better word, solo path, and each time has been just as entertaining and unique as the time before.
The night began with me leaving the house well earlier than most concert-goers with the promise of an in-person interview following Watt's soundcheck. I don't typically recommend showing up to a show more than two hours before the openers take the stage, but for a Mike Watt show, showing up early can be almost as entertaining as seeing the actual show.
I got to The Waiting Room pretty much right as the clock struck 7, and wandered in to find that Watt & crew were running a bit behind. In fact, they hadn't yet come through the doors to the club.
