MAE is one of several bands setting a new precedent in the digital age of new releases. Over the span of 2009, Mae has begun releasing a song a month from their three new EPs scheduled for the year, Morning, Afternoon and Evening, (for those that are acronym impaired, that's M, A, and E).
Added to the benefit of getting new songs, fans can rejoice over the happy feeling that will spill over them from knowing their $1 per song (minimum donation) is going to humanitarian and charitable efforts.
Thus far in 2009, MAE has raised over $35,000 from the first four song releases. With 8 more to go, the band is on pace for one awesome annual donation total for 2009.
"From the beginning MAE has been about making music and using our voice to help serve as a bridge to connect people and build community," explains drummer Jacob Marshall. "For the entirety of 2009, our desire is to be the change we want to see in the world."
In the here-and-now, MAE is on a US tour scheduled to finish up in Virginia on May 30.
