The television station formerly known as Music Television has lined up to help Waxploitation for the release of Causes 2. The album features several hot artists who've gathered to help three Darfur charities. With 100% of the profits being donated to: Human Rights Watch, Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) and Oxfam America, Causes 2 is the latest in a long series of benefit albums that are worthwhile based on the causes alone. Included on Causes 2 are: Black Moth Super Rainbow, The Decemberists, Devendra Banhart, Diplo, Federico Aubele, Gnarls Barkley, LCD Soundsystem, Matthew Dear, Mum, My Morning Jacket, Neon Neon, Richard Swift, RJD2 and Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings. MTV's role in this is through "The Leak," their latest system for sharing new releases with fans prior to the album's official arrival. The album will be prominently featured on all the MTV nation (MTV, mtvU, MTV.com and Think.MTV.com) offering people first listens as well as information about the Darfur crisis. The album is currently available to be streamed at www.mtv.com/music/the_leak. Causes 2 is officially released Tuesday, May 5.
