i get so frustrated with the world of music
over 5 years ago

i guess i used to be very naive && maybe i still am, but i think people put too much emphasis on the wrong things. so panic! got signed after playing one show - can't we just chalk it up to a sweet christmas bonus for the genius who pulled that off, because look how much attention they have gotten for our scene & fbr. so the academy is kicked a guy out, (i can't believe i'm saying this) he didn't

introductions

What song would you choose to introduce someone to your favorite band? The other day I was listening to Secret Machines, as I often do, and Faded Lines came on, and it struck me that if I was trying to convince one of my friends to listen to them this would probably be the song I'd send them first. It's not my favorite song they've done, not even my favorite song on the album, but I think it's one

I miss wireless internet like whoa. I can't do any fun MOG things without it, because I'm on the family machine, as opposed to the lappy. BUT we should have it back in less than a week, and I can once again spread the good word about my music to the masses. In the meantime, here are some bands you should check out:Mason Jennings>>>mainly I'm addicted to the song "Be Here Now" but I have liked every

Yesterday I headed up to Baltimore to see The Secret Machines play at the Artscape festival. They'd played in DC on Friday night, and I had a ticket for that show butttt I wrecked my car on Wednesday night so I couldn't get to that show. After seeing them yesterday, I'm kicking myself for not finding a way up there.I've been listening to TSM for a couple years now. I first saw them on tour with Th

computers suckkkk.

So four times in the past seven months I've had to reset my computer...I forget the official term for it. But four times I've had to get PodUtil, four times I've had to sit there and upload songs from my iPod to my computer, hitting OK every 50 songs when it asks me to register. Quite stressful. If only I weren't planning a month worth of debauchery/concerting, going everywhere from Charlotte to P

rather waste my time with you

Occasionally my playlist will surprise me by choosing a few perfect songs in succession. It started out with JH3, Spin the Bottle, off the Reality Bites soundtrack. I was about 10 when this movie came out--in the past year, it's become a defining movie for me. This song is enough to make me want to go watch it right now. That was followed by The Used, Blue and Yellow. I have a couple albums by t...

So I spent almost $40 on my Taking Back Sunday ticket, what with all the extra charges. I really don't want to drive all the way to Portsmouth on Saturday. I've heard this tour is amazing, everyone seems really into AVA and all. But I have a feeling I'll be miserable the whole time, I don't feel like being in the pit but I hate to drive 6 hours to sit there. Plus, All Time Low is playing in Richmo

Hey I'm doin' alright

I can't get enough of this song. The article about The Format in the new AP magazine was enough to make me go back and read the last 2 or 3 that I'd just thrown in the floor, too uninspired to read. TF gets me excited about music again. I can't believe I was going to skip this tour (especially since I'm one of the lucky few shows to get Steel Train, who I've been digging on for a while). I've got
