oh mr. mog-a-zine
I miss wireless internet like whoa. I can't do any fun MOG things without it, because I'm on the family machine, as opposed to the lappy. BUT we should have it back in less than a week, and I can once again spread the good word about my music to the masses. In the meantime, here are some bands you should check out:Mason Jennings>>>mainly I'm addicted to the song "Be Here Now" but I have liked everything I've heard from MJ.Hellogoodbye>>>Sarah (MOG user lakeofstereos) just posted about them but really they're ridiculously fun live. They're like the Flaming Lips for the 18 and under crowd. Not that I'm under 18, but still. The songs are pure pop.Gym Class Heroes>>>who'd have thought I'd ever LOVE a band this hiphoppy? I know they're like, alt-rap or whatever, and I kind of shy away from alt-anything labels (ie, Hackensaw Boys being alt-bluegrass. I prefer "newgrass." Or maybe "nu-grass," wishing I had an umlaut (sp?) for that u.) but I saw them a bunch on Warped Tour and now I'm pretty much addicted.Secret Machines>>>still raving about them. The fall "In the Round" tour isn't really coming anywhere near me. Good thing my brother lives in NYC, I'm counting on staying with him to hit either the first or last (or both!) dates on the tour.Pete Yorn>>>new album out in two weeks! I was so bummed to miss him in Richmond last week, but what can you do. I'm slightly addicted to "The Good Advice," off the Westerns EP.That's all for now. I just realized I described myself as "addicted" to three things in here, maybe soon I'll think of some new words. It's good to be back in the MOG world!
