i get so frustrated with the world of music

i guess i used to be very naive && maybe i still am, but i think people put too much emphasis on the wrong things. so panic! got signed after playing one show - can't we just chalk it up to a sweet christmas bonus for the genius who pulled that off, because look how much attention they have gotten for our scene & fbr. so the academy is kicked a guy out, (i can't believe i'm saying this) he didn't write any of the songs on the last album so really the music isn't gonna change. if we're gonna get mad at chicks for only listening to bands because they're goodlooking how can we complain about member changes when the music is the same? what's everyone got against groupies - everyone's just lookin' for a good time. in the end it comes down to how i see sunsets when i hear "sad & lonely" and i feel sixteen when i hear "wounded" and i am mentally in chicago when i hear "almost here" and that whoop in "skeleton key" is my favorite moment in music. i wish we could all just mellow out & maybe i should lay off absolutepunk.net for a while.

  1. lakeofstereos says AMEN to this whole post. I got so angry when people (including several friends) "stopped liking" TAI when Tom left (I hate to say he was "kicked out"). If they loved TAI for the right reasons, why does it matter? Well, it does matter, I know, especially to people like us who have built up relationships with them, but it's all about the music. I, like everyone else, am very sad about Tom's absence, but I don't love TAI any less. I'm still going to go crazy at their shows and tell everyone about them because those songs mean the world to me. ps I love you and miss you and hope to see you soon!
