WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

Mellowing out in cubicle country ...

Posted over 2 years ago
So cubicle country isn't exactly I like to find myself 5 days a week ... but with good music it makes it a little easier... Today I have been investigating Corinne Bailey Rae ... I'm not going to lie, I REALLY like it ... most chart toppers disappoint me but she def. lives up to the hype... if you like her sound that is, which I oddly do... not normally something I could get into for more than a track or two, I find myself listening to her entire collection via HypeMachine... Anyone else have anyone they were surprised by this year?

  1. tonytx42 says I was really surprised by The Duhks. I thought, "Oooh, look. It's an edgier Nickel Creek with a tattooed lady lead singer. They're trying to be rock and roll... isn't that cute?" Their album "Migrations" is REALLY good; a lot of old spirituals and some impressive instrumentals. I'm not even a bluegrass fan and I really liked this one. And yes, Corinne Bailey Rae is excellent. Good luck in cubicle country!
