So last Saturday I went to New World Brewery to FINALLY check out The Postmarks... if you read any kind of music mags you had to have heard about them by now.
If not, you suck :)
Anyway, Florida severly lacks in the indie music swing of things and this band is out of Miami so I was stoked to finally get to see a band that is blowing up and from my native craptastic state.
Needless to say, they were amazing, cd quality at the least. The band was really great too and we ended up hanging out until dawn, literally :) Tim is an awesome girl and they all seem pretty blown away by the recent buzz about them. Luckily it hasn't gotten to their heads, yet. Let's hope it stays that way.
Anyway I just wanted to share in hopes that you will take a second and check them out... "Goodbye" is definitely the stand out track and the video is adorable :)
Hope everyone is having a more eventful Monday than I am :)
I know I can be a little "slower" when it comes to picking up on the newest internet music craze... hell I wasn't on Mog until November...
But for those of you who have yet to discover Pandora.com... I implore you to go check it out ...
This is really the best site in the whole wide world for people who spend a ridiculous amount of time searching for new music (i.e. me)
I ALWAYS have it running in the background when I am at work and I keep a little notepad for when I hear a band that I just HAVE to investigate. Then I go and request the CD on lala.com (another KICK ASS site for music lovers) (I swear I don't work for these people hahaha!)
Anyway I have only been rocking out with Pandora for about 2 months and I probably have learned about 300 bands... I write down anywhere from 25-50 a day ... sooooooo- great!
Anyway stop reading my boring words and go check it out! I PROMISE you will love it too!
Does anyone else act like a complete ass when driving around with good tunes blaring?
I tend to attract unwanted attention but I just don't care ... I LOVE rocking out, singing at the top of my lungs, and of course trying not to be too distracted as I am bound to run in the back of someone's car one day and have to blame it on The Format.
This morning, Ray LaMontagne eased me into my morning commute (which by the way is 15 miles, which ends up taking over an hour!) then I rocked out in bumper to bumper to The Format and their version of indie-pop goodness.
Just wondering if any of the other crazy music lovers on this site act half as retarded as I do on their commutes?

Do not feel ashamed, you have found someone like yourself! I have this thing for Jim Carrey's cover of "I Am The Walrus" and imagine how odd that sounds when you're rolling up into a parking lot! ha ha.
It's all good. Everyone does it whether they admit it or not.
If I commuted, I'm sure I would sing along at the top of my lungs too.
Oh you know I'm a car rocker. Wait, that could be taken the wrong way...But you get what I mean! It's fun in traffic, especially when you have the windows down so others can hear what you're bumpin to.

I suck.
I played at that show. I'm in a band called Pemberley.
