Pre-Diva Whitney and a Sad Valentine

Before Bobby Brown and too much Blow, Whitney Houston's perfect delicate voice showed up on an album by the funk-jazz relatively unknown group of Bill Laswell's called Material. Her voice and the sax solo just blew me away. I remember seeing her on the Johnny Carson show and her voice was so pitch perfect it was incredible. She set such a high standard that I think it was even hard for her to maintain it.
