SOUNDS OF FUTURE PAST AND PRESENT PERFECT

the white howlin' wolf

jon spencer is a freakin' genius. his creativity is unparalleled. crazy r&b. he totally reminds me of howlin' wolf. crazy howls. I put Jon Spencer and Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and Blues Explosion on random shuffle, and all this crazy music is different. He's definitely not rehashing his own sound. I mean, there are certain characteristics that jump out, but it's all crazy different.

  8. StudioNone says Heard the stuff they did backing R.L. Burnside? Or check out 20 Miles, the side project of his second guitarist. Both are on Fat Possum and totally worthwhile! Nice post!

  9. atman says yeah, michaeldustdevils hipped me to Boss Hog a while back and I had no clue that Jon Spencer had anything to do with them. as soon as my emusic downloads rollover I'm gonna see what other side-project stuff of his I can find.
