THE MUSIC BLOGGING HIVE MIND

Brant Bjork post 2...

Posted over 2 years ago
I posted about this guy a few days ago: http://mog.com/atman/blog_post/61850. I've been adding more and more of his stuff to my collection. He has a sound that is pretty unique. You hear some funky old school 70's soul music with hints of progressive 80's stuff sprinkled on top. I can totally imagine them sitting around in the studio, someone comes up with a an interestng riff or groove, and they all jump on it. They fiddle around with it for a while and come up with a really tasty jam. Crock-pot city.

  2. sedagive says Brant Bjork has this sort of laid-back approach to his music, yet it's always interesting, and not necessarily "light." I particularly like the way the drums (his instrument) drive the music without taking it over. Definitely a unique act.

  9. ebuzzmiller says The Upans gets mentioned in the film "The Razor's Edge", and I just watched the old version and the Bill Murray version. It was spoken of in reverent tones so I figured I should at least Wiki it, y'know? Shit, 25 years ago I looked like Simon Le Bon. Now I look like Simon's Been Eating Bon-Bons.

  10. atman says hahaha... all that brain stretching hasn't seem to have done shit for me. Well, I could go onto a huge several page rant about consciousness and and the senses, but I don't have the stamina. I'm just an ex-pothead with aspirations for enlightenment.
