I was incredibly sad when they broke up. They had a harder edgier sound than other bands that started on Sub-Pop. People always refer to them as an "alternative" band, but they sure sounded like metal to me. Hard rock/metal. Hard to get tired of this band.

LadyC says so true...i am still amazed how much airplay they still get in different countries, i count 5 countries in the last year where i heard them with the on air dj giving props.

lemontwist says Yeah, I agree. I love Soundgarden. Their sound never grows old. Sad to think they've been broken up almost 10 years now.

atman says I can't remember what song Chris Cornell sang on the Katrina Hurricane Relief Concert, but I do remember I loved it. Does anyone remember that?
