SOUNDS OF FUTURE PAST AND PRESENT PERFECT

another blast from the past from the 80's

Posted over 2 years ago
I saw these guys in concert the very same year this clip is from. This was shot in New York. I saw them in Dallas. Texxas Jam. Them, BTO, Loverboy, Scorpions, I forget who else. But the final act was Van Halen.Just as Van Halen was starting, I was hanging with a bunch of friends. I said to one of my buddies, "dude, just push me up to the front of the stage. If anyone gives me any shit I'll just point behind me (as if it weren't my fault)." I could swear that I got a lot of eye contact from Eddie. I know that some musicians, if they have a hard time performing in front of huge groups, they'll pick out one person in the audience to concentrate on. Knowing what I know now about Eddie Van Halen, about him being ultra-shy and having to get loaded to even step onto the stage, it wouldn't surprise me at all if I was one of the people he picked out to play "to". I've had that happen to me before in small blues clubs in Oakland. Have the singer constantly singing at me.Anyway..... here's some Krokus.

  3. sam9muhr says Ahh.. Thank you for the blast from the past. I only got to directly experience two years of the '80s. And that's really cool about Eddie VH. I believe ya.

  4. RGM says Great Band! I saw the singer at Aerosmith's done with Mirror's show standing on the floor close to me with the guitar player, both of them dressed in stage cloths. Man he's a short Dude! I mean he got the chick's, but the girl with him was three times his height. They were a total AC/DC rip off, but they fucking rocked! So was Accept, "Balls to the Wall" and "Restless and Wild" were their album! Ah good times, good times...
