okay, I'm gonna get back to the original thought of this post.
way back in they day I was living in Texas and i had an aunt (my coolest aunt) who lived in Slidell La. me and my pops went there one year for thanksgiving. holy CRAP. you cannot imagine thanksgiving until you've done it louisiana stylee. really. a table about 30 yards long full of all kinds of crazy-ass food. roast pork. not HAM. freaking roast PORK. non-cured pork roast. oh MAN. and seafood coming out the wazoo.
so this chick, a daughter of a friend of my aunts, asks me if I want to go out to midnight mass (wink wink). HELL YEAH.
so we get to talking about music, and she asks me if I like Toto. I'm like "no." real off hand. at this point in my life I had just discovered AC/DC and Van Halen and Led Zeppelin.
now, where I'm at, I'd have been more open, bet then i really looked down my nose at the whole pop-rock scene.
shit. it's taken me ages to write this comment to my own post.
I wish I'd had a little more awareness back then. not so much that I miss being a fan of Toto, as much as i might have been more open to the music that my pop liked. (whole 'nother long story).

i had to log in just to mog this post the fuck up! awesome, lol!!! jerry, you rule, and yeah, toto does kind of suck for an adolecent who dosen't realize his catholic second cousin is hitting on him. but i can enjoy listening to toto for it's humorous aspects and cheese factor, much in the way i can enjoy listening to sammy davis junior or bob goulet...
