Hi all, I'm back after a short log-in issue. So I've been listening to the Retribution Gospel Choir album for about a week now, and it's become one of my favorite releases of this year, by far. The RBC is lead by Low frontperson Alan Sparhawk (and I'm definitely going to do a post on Low soon as well). I think Sparhawk is really one of the best songwriters of his generation, and doesn't much get his due except sometimes in the small indie circles. This record sheds the slow, melodic songs of his work in Low, trading it in for a punky, roughshod Neil Young & Crazy Horse vibe.
