it's always disheartening when mog doesn't recognize my tags. i mean, i know i have the tendency to lean towards obscurity, but it's not like this is 70's underground cambodian noisecore. to be fair, let's go sailing's debut record isn't officially released for a couple more weeks, so consider this a "you heard it here first." shana, the voice behind lgs, is an old friend and part of the rickity ship collective that spawned silversun pickups, earlimart, irving, great northern, etc. etc. i don't live in los angeles anymore but apparently she is getting some local love in the form of coverstories:
her music is complex (i often think of her as a female elliott smith) and she shines when she opts for dark and slow, as opposed to her peppier, faster numbers. she has a tendency to embrace childlike sensibilities but i prefer her more grown-up sounding laments, such as this one, called "all i want from you is love."find out more at "www.letsgosailingmusic.com":http://www.letsgosailingmusic.com or see her on tour this spring:03/14: Austin, TX @ 11:30 SXSW Showcase-Blender Bar at The Ritz03/19: Santa Fe, New Mexico @ O'Shaughnessy with Elvis Perkins03/20: Tucson, Arizona @ Solar Culture with Elvis Perkins03/21: San Diego, California @ The Casbah with Elvis Perkins03/22: Los Angeles, live on KCRW Morming Becomes Eclectic03/24: Los Angeles, California @ Largo with Elvis Perkins03/25: San Francisco, California @ Cafe Du Nord with Elvis Perkins03/26: Santa Cruz, California @ The Attic with Elvis Perkins03/29: Portland, Oregon @ Doug Fir Lounge with Elvis Perkins03/30: Seattle, Washington @ The Tractor Tavern with Elvis Perkins04/03: Denver, Colorado @ Soiled Dove with Elvis Perkins04/04: Omaha, Nebraska @ Sokol Underground with Elvis Perkins04/05: Minneapolis, Minnesota @ 400 Bar with Elvis Perkins04/06: Chicago, Illinois @ Schuba's with Elvis Perkins04/10: New York, NY @ Mercury Lounge with Youth Group and Aqueduct04/11: Brooklyn, NY @ Union Halland portlanders, don't forget, tomorrow nite you have the rare opportunity to catch a live panty lions performance.
