An offspring of the youth services at Calvary Temple Worship Center in Modesto, CA, modern worship quintet Worth Dying For got their start playing anthemic, rock-infused praise tunes at weekly gatherings at ~the Stadium, a meeting place for young people. After signing to worship giant Integrity Music in 2007, they went into the studio with tobyMac collaborator and producer Dave Wyatt to record their self-titled debut -- a disc with shades of fellow Christian rockers Paramore, Fireflight, and Hillsong United. When Worth Dying For was released in the spring of 2008, it hit the lower rungs of the ~Billboard 200 and peaked in the Top 20 of the publication's Top Christian Albums tally.
