Emmy The Great

The inventive, acoustic guitar-wielding folksinger Emma-Lee Moss was born in Hong Kong and later moved with her family to England, where she became a fixture of London's burgeoning anti-folk scene. The young singer/songwriter collaborated with Lightspeed Champion, Fyfe Dangerfield, and Jeremy Warmsley, and her audience grew as she shared the stage with the likes of Martha Wainwright, Tilly and the Wall, and Kimya Dawson. Emmy the Great's debut single, "Secret Circus," was released in 2006, followed in 2007 by the My Bad EP. Meanwhile, she expanded her reach by touring the festival circuit, bringing her articulate folk songs to audiences at ~the Green Man Festival, ~Latitude Festival, and ~Glastonbury. "We Almost Had a Baby," a single from her debut studio album, arrived in November 2008, followed several months later by the 2009 release of First Love.
