a little bit of a tribute...

...to annuals...one of my personal favorites.i can listen to "brother" over and over again...i have yet to be sick of it. it is definitely a song i would describe as epic and no matter how many times you listen, there is something new or different everytime. what begins as a calm and mellow, atmospheric-type beginning introduces soft and luscious vocals, suddenly escalating into an explosion of sound, full of intensity and emotion. give it a listen. or two. or twenty. and tell me you dont love it.i highly recommend, if you have a chance, seeing their live show. my only disappointment was that i had to leave early due to transportation issues. while most of the band members wouldn't be able to attend some of their own (21+) shows, adam kenny anna nick zach and mike have more musical ability packed in their little fingers than in a lot of bands and artists you see today. while "brother" is the stand-out track on the be he me album, i was also not disappointed by the rest of the album. try it out, straight through. it's catchy, but not after one listen. it's something to unravel, not to take in once. listen again and again to unpack the musical snacks imbedded into every song. annuals...they may just be your new favorite band.
