Okay so call me a werido..but I think some of the best albums out there are soundtracks. As you all may know, a good soundtrack can make a movie..and there are some really great soundtracks out there. Recently the AIM homepage had an article about the top 70-something greatest songs from a movie, and most of them were spot on. Of course, because of my love of soundtracks, I already had most of the songs, but for the uninitiated it had some pretty great suggestions for starting your soundtrack exploration. Some personal favorites of mine are the soundtracks from Armageddon, City of Angels, Sleepless in Seattle, Batman Forever, Footloose, A Kinght's Tale, Top Gun, Ray, Pretty Woman and The Breakfast Club. Sure most of them are packed with cheesy 80s hits or rock ballads (that make you tear up just a little, you can admit it) but they are a pretty great way to get music by a variety of artists without buying a ton of CDs.
