One of the best records of the early 1980s "new wave". Catchy songs coupled to a beautifully down vibe - an ideal soundtrack for alienated teenagers. Tears For Fears went on to a much bigger pop success with their follow-up album, but this is the record where they did something interesting and heartfelt.

Album single "Mad World" was made famous by an acoustic cover on the "Donnie Darko" soundtrack. Kanye West sampled/covered "Memories Fade" on his 808s & Heartbreak album.
