WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Do music and working mesh?

Supposedly music is statistically proven to be good for your brain when doing math. I know that for me it's one of the only times when working I can listen to music at the same time. (That and probably also when I'm writing something) I definitely can't read and listen at the same time. Last week I had a US History essay due-Who is at fault for the Conquest of Tenochtitlan?- and I decided to listen to Wolf Parade as background music. Something happened and I couldn't stop listening to the cd. Strangely enough it was a history teacher at my school that lent it to me last year. Unfortunately I didn't keep it in my itunes and now it's only accessible through my ipod. I have come to Love It Utterly And Completely. It Is So Good. Last week when I was working on my essay I got stuck on the song "Fancy Claps" especially. New favorite song? I think so. Other than that track I also really like "Dear Sons and Daughters of Hungry Ghosts". Sooooo good.

  1. zekkeishoku says iPods = D00M! XD! I actually can't do math with music on. I'll start singing along and I'll get distracted. Haha. Right now, I'm doing some English homework while listening to alicenine. Today, there's an annoying ringing sound in my head whenever I enter my room and I need music to drown it out. But uh, -cough- back on topic, ooo. I need more music. x___x; I'm trying to get into non-Japanese stuff again.

  4. annnna says Linna: from the jrock that I've heard so far, there's some differences in the american indie bands. i bet you can find stuff you like though there's certainly lots to choose from, especially here on mog. Hmmm: Yes, that teacher has some interesting taste. He plays music everyday before we start class and really likes bjork and air. Max: Unfortunately I did miss that show. I kept holding out on buying tickets because I didn't want to spend the money and then they sold out. next time for sure! Yeah I really like Sunset Rubdown, thanks to the tracks you posted a while back. I didn't know he had so many bands.
