MOG MOG

MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

This song really got me going this a.m. on my ride to work.

I have been riding my bike to and from work for the last couple of weeks. What with gas prices hitting...ouch...$3.75 a gallon. And what with global warming and all.

Yes, I wear headphones and listen to music...No, I don't wear a helmet.

I got priorities man.

I heard that this song made the cut on the "Heros" soundtrack. It was used in a sceen where "the cheerleader" was having a sleep over and all the guests ended up dancing to this song. The New Pornographers frontman A.C. Newman said that when he wrote this song he had just that image in mind...

My eyes are sore from watching your post-teen girls now - I know I should I have heeded your warning.

Incidentally, do you ride a matching bike with your ear-buds?

Good for you on riding your bike. I need to either fix or replace mine, it took a beating last year, and then I'll be riding all over the place.

I've been riding my bike since '05 & haven't had a car for even longer. Funny how we Americans complain about exorbitant gas prices when they are quite reasonable compared to other countries!

That vid is a real T& A fest. Kinda surprised New Pornographers put that out. Fun song though.

Aug. - I knew I would catch flack from our UK moggers...I am well aware of prices over here vs. over there due to my Scottish family...our rates for stamps/postage are also cheaper here then any other country too.

Eman - I am loving the bike...it has baskets and I can get my shopping done too.

Shudd - Looking at that bill...it really puts it into perspective. Dang.

Dale - Besides the melting of the polar ice caps, I have been putting on the weight...and I will not "Flashdance" either.

Bart - That bike hardly looks safe.

Neill & Jox - I know, I know...

HA! I had an inkling of what you were talking about when I read your post title. And of course, the NP's are pretty much my favorite band ever, so they're never far from my mind :)

August: Hello, the band is called the New PORNOGRAPHERS! :)

Yup, two smilies in one comment :)

Ok three. Done.

I have one NP CD and don't much care for it. On the other hand, I keep hearing NP tracks on MOG that I like, like this one. Maybe I need to do some iTunes cherry-pickin' when it comes to this band.

Wish I could cycle to work, but it's 35 miles each way. Thank God for trains, trams and iPods.

Charley - I'm stealing that line. Next time someone says something dumb it will be met with a blank stare and the words "You should invest in a helmet."

No matter how obvious ... I admire your tongue-in-cheek ability to write the catchy Headline (post title) annieander.

I am in complete agreement on the bike thing ... I am looking for some sort of 'baskets' for mine, and am investigating adding a small 50cc gas motor for the longer stints. (And endorse efforts to convince you to protect your noggin ... or else we might all be denied the brilliant (though obvious) quips, to say nothing of the personal humpty-dumpty consequences)

That's a pretty funny comment, at the last there JM, particularly from someone calling themselves John Madden ;0 ... so I may need to steal that line from you both.
